DodwanDroid is an Android App that leverages the DoDWAN middleware system to provide services such as neighborhood visualization, contact management, file sharing, text and voice messaging. It can be installed on any Android device (e.g., smartphone or tablet).
Android devices running DodwanDroid communicate together in an opportunistic mode: transient contacts between nodes are used to share messages between these nodes, but a message can also propagate from device to device, and reach a destination that is far beyond the direct radio range of the sender.
DodwanDroid is available as an APK package, and it must be installed on each smartphone or tablet you plan to use. On some devices this may require allowing the installation of applications from "unknown sources" (in the Settings/Security sub-menu).
